David Gates - Piano

An active musician in Adelaide since 2015 and completing a diploma of music performance in 2017, David has spent the last decade performing and teaching piano.  

He has honed his musicianship and industry skills working in a number of successful cover groups as well as along-side original artists, contributing to composition, performance and studio recordings as well as original music for screen. He is an experienced tutor with background in both school and studio settings. David is enthusiastic about music across all styles, from the renaissance to 2025 pop (but perhaps loving film scores above all else).

 

He is passionate about sharing this diverse range of interest and experience with students in order to help them discover and build strategies to pursue their own passions, whether that be writing and performing original music, studying for classical examinations or simply wanting to play along to some of their favourite tunes for their friends to sing along to.

Recently David has expanded professionally to work in the field of piano technology (piano tuning and repair).
